New wheels = new problems

Well I got a new set of wheels for my car, Jegs star wheels in 15x4 and 15x8. I love how they look aside from some simple problems. I thought I could get away with stock studs on the fronts with a 5/16 spacer, but the studs dont even make it to the end of the open ended lug nut. But worse than that, my driver side rear wheel sticks out about 1.25-1.5 inch more than the left. It looks ridiculous and I don't know what to do about it. The wheels are the same and it didn't do it with my old wheels. Anyone know what could cause this?

it's not lol....traps about 104-106 mph in the 1/4 so should be good for some real low 13's or high 12's once I get some practice. Should be getting a Vortech within the next year if everything goes as planned

the one side sticking out more than the other is a normal thing..you notice it moreso when you go to a bigger tire than with stock or skinny wheels. And my studs on my spacers are that big either for my skinnies. You should be fine.

DFG_Pimpin, do your front studs stick out of your lug nuts at all? Mine don't even make it to the end of the lug and that scares me.

As for the wheels with the spacers, I would get longer lugs/studs. It only takes a hammer to tap them out of their holes. It's easy enough to do. You should have a whole nuts' worth of threads. It is unsafe otherwise. (I am a Toolmaker and knowing fasteners is my job).

Switch the wheel that sticks out farther on the driver side with one on the passenger side and see if you get the same thing. That will determine if the rim has the wrong backspacing (packaged incorrectly) or if the problem is as DFG said, something that is typical and more noticeable with wider rims.

Moroso makes a direct press in stud for the front, I had to get some for my 97gt when running spacers. I would just measure the back spacing on the rear wheels to see if they are the same.

i have closed lug nuts, but the studs on my spacer don't stick out very far at all. but i have made 10 passes down the track, driven it around town alot, and the previous owner has taken it to the track as well and nothing has gone wrong. (knock on wood) Since you are using a spacer, putting new studs in wouldn't be that much of a hassle to make you more comfortable to drive on them.

Looks good on there, unless the tires are different widths, it's your rear suspension.
the stock 4 link can push out 1.5" under a load. you may want to change your LCA's if they're still stock.

I have aftermarket control arms and nothing seems to look bent or out of the place. It never looked quite like this to me until I put the new wheels on. I have a picture of my car with the 03 cobras from only 2 weeks ago at an NMRA event and nothing appears to stick out. The car hasn't even barely been driven since then so I couldn't have broken anything since then. I am sooooo confused......
