hello new to the board. picking up a 1998 GT tomorrow,thought i would start early on the posting. my current ride and project are in my sig below. The blue car;for those that have never heard of or seen one is a 1981 ford fairmont,its got a cage,drag suspension,getting a D.S.S 306 and Tremec 3550(fun car) :bunny3: It oughtta move pretty good considering it only weighs about 2650#

the daily is split between the SSP coupe and a slowashell 4 door fairmont to save gas.
Hint: the coupe is much more fun to drive!!!!

i havent gotten the car yet and already know what i want to do to make it my own.first
--if it has a wing,that has to go :dunno: not a fan of them. A coupe should look like a coupe IMO,that means no wing
second-the sideskirts have to go
third-i will pull the springs and cut off a coil or so to revise its elevation

a catback will come quickly to change the sound

it needs a headlight,but I plan on changing the whole headlight set to cobra headlights

i really like the cobra R hood and the cowl hood for the sn

i dont know the interior color yet or the sound system quality,but any interior changes will come after the fairmont gets finished,sometime around september.

phew!!! just got in from picking up the SN from a ford dealership.salesman bought it and turned it cheap.
so its actually a 97,grey interior,mach 460 system,cold A.C.,DRIVES GOOD,NEEDS STRUTS AND SHOCKS. THE WING is all i can see in the rearview mirror.which is fine because tomorrow it will be nixed along with the sideskirts to either file 13 unless i can find some buyer for them.

the drivers side seat is broken on the bottom(fat driver before) :tickedoff: ,who apparently loved soda!she spilled it on everything in the interior.
on the plus side it already has a samsung cd player and a small amp in the trunk that im hooking up my sub to.

the engine could definitely use a trip to the carwash and get a good bath from a high pressure hose.
pics tomorrow when its light.

i thought so too. $1000.00 seems to be the magic # for price of cars that i find. that was what i paid for my dps coupe 4 years ago.
well i was sweating balls outside today,but the wing is gone.replaced by small push in buttons to fill the holes,along with the skirts.
I dont believe in wasting time when it comes to making it my own.damn the air conditioning feels good!I have been without for 4 years;in texas heat,thats not fun.

this is my first mod motor car and am getting used to the difference from a pushrod engine.these things wind out pretty good!
