Ok so right now my current mod list as far as performance includes
Bassani O/R X
Bassani BX Catback
JLT CAI
Professional Products Plenum, 75mm t/b

I just got my tax money and will have around 600-700 to play with for my car.

I was thinking a SCT tuner with 3.73 gears from AmericanMuscle for 513 with discount code would be a good way to go but I want some other opinions. Would lowering the car(something ive said i'd do for the past two years) be more worth my while? Or maybe something else im not thinking of, thanks in advance.

Gears, gears, gears. Unless you are already having suspension issues you will get a lot more enjoyment out of gears.

Gears will make driving it 100x more fun...suspesion will make it look 100x better, and handle a little better. Both mods are essential...they should both be top priority for every mustang.

Gears for sure . It's like in the top 3 first mods I do to any Stang . Night and day difference turns the car into alot more fun. Canned tunes for the most part just advance the timing a bit and make it run a little leaner so you net a bit more power. There good because they recalibrate ur speedo

yeah with gears and tune kit it will be 513 for the kit and the install from what im reading will be around 200-250 so right around my budget

only thing I noticed going from 3.27's to 3.73's is I no longer have any traction in first or second lol

Was it worth it in your opinion?

my case is different than most only reason I went to a different gearing is for my racing trans I'm building. but when I had my last mustang, I went from 2.73's to 4.10's. woke the car up and I loved it so yes I think it's worth it

Sounds like gears and tune are the way im going.
Now my question is, do I need to rebuild my trac lok? Car only has 49k on it.

no I wouldn't rebuild it. it's relatively low mileage and should make it nearly double that mileage so long as you don't abuse it

How do you not abuse gears?! After gears all you will want to do is floor at each light!

Gears are wonderful. I bought my car with the 4.10s and it never really felt like much until I got in a stock geared car. Don't fear the gear!

Oh yes the new edge cars mostly came with 3.27's my car came with 2.73's weak sauce.. Modular cars are great with 4.10's IMO unless you do a shit load of highway driving .. I can see what ur saying madstang that's not a big jump but with the g force ur building should be great I love my g force trans

Gears are really strong it's hard to mess up gears its the other parts that get beat up posi clutches and shit like that .. Yes I've seen people break spider gears but it's not nearly as common as blowing some posi clutches so the car only does doughnuts to the left . When I install gears in customer cars I ask them can you do doughnuts both ways ? If the answers no then they usually always pay extra for some clutches . There cheap anywyas But on a low milage car I'd assume they'd be fine Cus that car looks clean
