Justin you must have auto trans for your RPMs to be that high am I right? and at what speeds are we talking? Manuals def do not rev as high as autos with gears. On the Highway going 75 right about 2500RPM with 4.10s

Correct, I have an auto..

Its about 2500 at 70 mph.

The 4.10s vs 3.73s debate never ends.

Its not bad on the highway IMO, but I feel like my 3.73s cruise far nicer than 4.10s do.

I would really base the decision on whether or not you plan on doing boost in the future.

If you ever plan on doing boost, 3.73s.

If your gonna stay n/a, then the 4.10s will be good.

I say 4.10s for auto, 3.73s manual because you have the extra gear and your 1st gear is a lot lower in the manual then the auto.

its all preference man....the difference between 3.73s and 4.10s is minimal in terms of performance so im not sure why people are acting like 4.10s= +200 hp lol

Im thinking 3.73s, the difference in performance is very minimal like you said justin and I still want it to cruise nicely. I also plan on eventually supercharging it with either a v2 s trim or a roots style like a 2.1 KB or something along those lines.

yea, im running out of gear at the track with 3.73s. I would 100% say do 3.73s if you plan on doing boost.

Ive driven lots of supercharged cars with 4.10s and its retarded. All they do is spin on the street. The KB car I drove with 4.10s was awful.

At least if yoiu have 3.73s you might have a chance to hook some of the power. lol

Just read all of that lot and here`s my pennies worth.

3.73s.

4.10s will limit your options in the future. In reality all gears do is make your car rev more and any fud can light up the tyres.
If you`re spinning you aint winning.
After you`ve added your gears and had it tuned you will eventually look for something else to add. 3.73s will cope better with the additional power if thats the route you take.

Thats the route I ended up going, i just ordered it all today and will hopefully installing them by this weekend or next week. I eventually want to put some boost to the motor. Procharger or v2 s trim is where its probably going.

most of the companys that make 3.90s are cheap quailty. I wouldnt trust anything but frpp, if your paying so much for install make sure it wont make noise.

W

Why not 4.30s though?

or even 4.56s?

lol, your guys logic is funny....

of course the more gear you do, the better acceleration you will see....

Yea, you can do 4.56 gears but the guy has said he wants it to cruise nicely on the highway and I dont consider 3500 rpms at 70 mph cruising nicely. haha

In my personal opinion, anything higher than 3.73s and I was annoyed on the highway...with 4.10s it feels like the car doenst have an OD gear at all....then again, I have a supercharger and a massive stall converter so I dont know if I would notice much difference between 2.73s and 4.10s at this point. lol
