Sorry for the lack of updates folks. Iowa has been quite cold. -2 today. With that being said I havnt done much with the car but have been getting some goodies show up to the house. Have most of the 8.8 stuff to swap everything to a 31 spine unit. Also just got my MSD coil packs and LiveWire plug wires. No more spark blowout!

Only on the dyno when my tuner tried to throw more timing to it. We also had to keep the rpms limited to 6k to keep the boost down. It's because of the cop conversion which is why I'm going back to plug wires. This year were taking the motor to at least 6500rpm so the boost should be around 15psi.

Well that sucks to hear since I'm doing the COP swap as well. Hopefully I won't have any problems since I wont be making as much power

I wouldn't worry at all if I were you. My car did great in 2016 when I first got the car tuned on the old setup. It did 9lbs of boost and I never had issues.

Started pulling back the engine harness to relocate the coils to the firewall. I HATE wiring

Got some needed work done this weekend. Coil packs have been relocated to the back of the engine bay and the 8.8 is finally built and ready to be thrown back into the car.

Eaton LSD - Moser 31 spline axles - I kept the 3.73 gears - New axle bearing and seals and some spherical bushings. I also have a Team-Z Anti Roll Bar going on it. I prettied it up with some fresh paint and a diff girdle cover.
I really like the coil packs being mounted back there. If I ever get rid of the eddy intake, my coil packs are going on the firewall like that. Great job!

Yeah worked out pretty good. I'm going to make a nicer looking bracket soon to hold them in place. Right now i'm just using a couple self tappers for mock-up.

Is anyone else plagued with a 5.4 3v as a daily driver? I've had my truck now going on almost 4 years and has been a good truck but the dieseling sound it makes from the crap cam phasers has struck my last nerve. Not to mention I think one of the chain tensioners are blown out cause I think i'm hearing an occasional chain slap. Long story short I now have $1100 in timing components and a new oil pump on the way for it. Lets get another 180kmi out of it lol.
I hate the 3v's........
Are you going to lock out the cam phasers and tune it, or are you replacing that junk?

Not gonna lock it out. I figured they lasted to 180ks so if I replace with quality stuff should last tell I retire the thing. I also got to do new diff clutch packs but thats not too big of a deal.
Yeah, youre right. I guess if its not raced and isnt being tuned already then that could be more trouble than its worth.
Whats the progress on the mustang? You ready for race weather yet?
