My car is running good, EXCEPT atleast once every time I drive it when i'm just cruisin down the highway in 5th and only 5th gear the rpm's will drop from whatever i'm at to 0 and the check engine light will come on but it only lasts for a couple seconds then resumes at speed. What can this be?

Well it's actually started happening while running in all gears now so even better..... :crying:

The engine is dying, I give it gas and nothing then all of a sudden it jumps back up to whatever rpm i was at. I can rev it and run it hard and it doesn't skip a beat. But it's getting worse for sure, I tried starting it today and it cranked forever, i let off twice then finally it decided to start right up, never missing a beat and drove fine. I dunno what you guys are talking about by "check your codes" btw.

if the check engine light is on then it is storing a DTC (diagnostic trouble code), you need a code puller/reader to pull the code and it typically will help you with your trouble shooting

I'm sorry but why are you asking for help on the problem when you check engine light comes on with out knowing the code? At least get the code for us and go from there. I would not waste any time, sounds like a gamble every time you drive. Your might get stranded soon. Good luck.

My 95 gt was doing the same thing ,IMO it could be the ccrm or the pip in the dizzy...Change both and your problem will be gone...The ccrm is the box behind the radiator overflow bottle.

But my car did the same thing ,and i changed both of those and its been running great ever since ....It will get worse though,soon it won't start at all

i'm leaning toward the pip in the dizzy. you can pull codes without buying a code reader. all you need is a paper clip and a haynes manual. the pip won't throw any codes

you can pull codes without a voltmeter. the ck engine light will flash. look it up in the haynes man. you can do it
