this is how it exactly went down from begging of issue to present time
car was running great. in fact 2 nights before i did the swap i ran my all best time at the track.
I had a walbro 255 sitting that i finally decided to install due to plans on running a 150 shot.
drove the car around the day i did the swap, was running good. came home parked it, dropped the tank, installed pump
primed pump a few times. car fired right up. was running hella rich, which i expected being its a bigger pump over stock. drove to a friends house about 3 miles away. didn't get on it. just cruised.
left friends house, got on it car had absolutly no power past 3k rpm. so i came home checked my CAI couplers, due to them being taped up and gave a touch of timing. ( i now have new ones on it being i thought that was my problem)
drove car again, but this time it was horrible, wouldn't idle, was missing and running like poop.
came home shut car off, went to bed.
woke up next morning no fire.
and yea fuel pressure testing is #1 on my list

your correct, the PIP tells the computer when to fire the injectors and it also keeps the FP running when the engine is rotating.

I believe your on the right track by cking the fuel pressure.
As already mentioned you might have kinked a line or dislodged some crud and clogged the fuel filter. Or maybe even the pump installation itself.

because maybe he posted in wrong section by chance? you must be a smart ass for me making sure, because if it is 96 up can be different things? excuse me for making sure and trying to help....

Are you calling him a dumbass...by assuming he could have possibly put it in the wrong section...get a grip. I was just helping as much as you were. No need to get pissy pants....

That's the 2nd thing I thought as well, getting some gunk in the fuel system. Can't hurt to change the fuel filter.

But you shouldn't be running rich. The new pump, as long as it's good, will supply the same pressure as the old pump. Whatever fuel is not used will go back to the tank via the return, the 255 just has more volume when you need it.

Yea i have a list of stuff to do this weekend.
Last race of the season is this Tuesday. got to make my Hail Mary pass.
I have a feeling its going to be something off the wall. last time i had an idle issue i ended up spending close to 200 bucks on trying to troubleshoot it, and in the end it was a bent butterfly plate in the throttle body :(.
Plus side is, by the time I'm done car should pretty much have all new sensors and filters lol.

update:
changed out the filter, and threw 2 gallons of gas.
primed pump, checked pressure. 40psi steady.
car started, drove around for about 5 hard miles. Car drove great, pulled hard.
came back home left it alone.
I just went out to try and set the timing, the car started fine then it started to idle down and die out
started back up, revved a few times, same thing, idled down and died.
now car wont start. lol
I'm starting to wonder if these walbro pumps don't like to run when there's only a few gallons of gas. cause there is no way i went threw 2-3 gallons of gas just buy driving 5 hard miles.

Its not fuel level, did you check pressure after driving it? can lose it once its warming up....

yea, it was still sitting at 40 psi when i got back home last night.
strange thing is, when i primed it last night at 1st the pump was loud, but when it started building pressure it got just a tad quieter which makes sense.
but this morning when i primed it, it stayed at the same high pitch.

To state the obvious you need fuel, air and spark for the engine to run. Since you just replaced the FP that is the most likely cause of the problem. KOEO fuel pressure should be about 40 psi. The engine will generally not fire if the pressure is in the 20's.

put 3 gallons of gas in the tank, car fired right up. was able to set timing perfectly.
ether i don't have the pump sitting in the correct poistion, or this thing just doesn't like having low fuel.

i agree with that.. but before this i put 2 gallons of gas, drove not even 10 miles, came back home parked the car. went out the next morning and it wouldn't start.
i spoke with another guy and he says the walbro pumps don't like it when there is a 1/4 tank or a little less

Ya 2?gallons added then 10 miles leaves you about a gallon or so that's not much in a 12 gallon tank.... As long as it sucks gas should be fine I don't run mine any lower then 1/4 no matter what
