So I had a weird problem with my 95 5.0 recently. I was hammering on my stang and noticed smoke from the engine bay, pulled over and I had blown coolant out of my overflow tank. I also noticed that my upper rad hose is really stiff when the car is warm. I've replaced the thermostat but the hose is still stiff, but only when up to temp. I still don't know why I blew coolant out of the overflow.

The rad hose is going to be stiff to a certain extent when the eng temp is up to operating temp due to the pressure in the system. You could pull some rad fluid and have it checked for combustion gas mixed in it. It is cheap to do if you go to a rad shop or you can get test strips at the parts store too.

Thanks guys, it is my head gasket, started it up today and was blowing more smoke than a 2 stroke. Then car is currently in pieces in my garage... waiting on parts and the heads to get resurfaced.
