odometer gauge

the odometer on my 98 gt is broken. how do i go about fixing this situation?

this sucks man...
i had this happen a while back..
ford will fix it for you...for like $500..
some radio/stereo places will aslo fix it for you,
but theres a shiatload of paperwork involoved...
dont recomend doing it yourself, if someone sees its been tampered with and theres
no record of ford or someone qualified you can get into some pretty big trouble.....

ive been riding on a broken odometer for quite some time now, like 2 years haha. it broke at 41,000 miles but im pretty sure its got around 80,000 on it now, is ford going to go apeshits if i bring it to them now? i wanna sell my car in the near future should i not worry about getting it fixed and just say that the odometer is broken and give them an estimate of how many miles i got?

no i would say it broke recently,
better resale on the car and no ones the wiser >
