So i need advice on an oil pump for my rebuilt engine. I'm running PI heads with a set of comp270's. Should i upgrade to a high flow oil pump or should i just get a brand new standard flow? I have heard people having problems with the high flows but what do you guys have to say about them?

I used a stock pump from 96 up till last year, now i have a cobra oil pump with VT Engines black gear set. you will be fine with just a stock cobra pump.

I just went ahead and picked up a melling standard volume at my local parts store. Hopefully I wont have any problems with it.

there were a few clearance and tolerance issues that I know of with the melling but you should be ok.

i agree with duff. MMR, Melling look to use machined stock casings with different material and/or treated gears. unless clearance and thrust bearing are out of tolerance, you should be fine. Get quality main bearings.
