Oil Sensor Problems? UPDATE

I changed my oil a few weeks ago, put the right amount in and everything was fine and dandy. I have noticed that when i park on a downward slope, and then turn my car on, my low oil light comes on, and not itll just come on randomly. I put in more oil, but that didnt help. and the dipstick shows the level to be full, so could the sensor be shot?

UPDATE:

Today, friday, i checked my oil level, and it was below minimum :sad5: So if my engine is burning oil, would that likely be a problem with the valve guides or soemthing?

Re: Oil Sensor Problems?

It could be that, you must have a 96 as i believe we are the only ones to have the sensor in the pan. 97-98 didn't get it.

i own a 96 cobra and i also have this problem. i like to back into my driveway, bc pulling out is a PITA, bc people speed down my block. when i start my car it says low oil. i would imagine its bc the position of the sensor in the oil pan

I have the same problems.

My low oil sensor is on the fritz and my car has bad valve seals whic I will soon be replacing. My car eats approximately half a quart of oil every 1200 miles so I just check it periodically. The low oil light is just a PITA because it likes to come on when I park on an incline. It's really no biggie IMO.
