So yesterday I installed my Aluminum BBK Under Drive Pulleys I had bought. It was getting dark yesterday and decided to wait till tomorrow to buy and put on the smaller belt (Bypassed Smog Pump and A/C till I can fully remove them when I have time). So I double check today to see what exact size belt I need now since smog pump and a/c are out of the question and go to this link (http://www.allfordmustangs.com/foru...94-mustang-5-0-need-belt-routing-diagram.html) They had different diagrams of each example.

So from the diagram I seen what I needed and it was 82.7in Belt. So I went to Advanced Auto and all they had was 82.5in and 83. So bought the 83in and brought it home. Too Long. Then went back and got the 82.5in. Too long. Again went back and got a now 82in. Too big. Finally decided to go with a 81in belt and that was it. Trust me I would have just taken the car there and done it but the stock belt size would not fit with the new pulleys. So 4 round trips later I have it done. I took the car for a test run and it runs like even more of a beast. No problems with cooling or charge. I wish I would have taken a camera with me to show how she now runs. Maybe tomorrow night I will do a video of it. I just wanted to tell my story to help anyone that does under drive pulleys and Smog pump / A/C Delete in the future (you need a 81in Belt not 82.7in).

Thanks for your time, and have a great one!

Nick

Have to remember those are probably with a Stock pulley size not underdrives.

Yea I know that now. I forget where I seen it, but on a forum a guy was saying he had under drive pulleys without changing the belt size. That is what I guess threw me off.

all that work and for only a few hp too? Not sure I would put UDP on a 347, be sure to keep the old pullies as I was happy I kept mine and have met many others that wished they kept theirs.

Again it was a deal at the time I could not pass up when needing a new Water Pump Pulley. I am keeping the stock pulleys along with the stock belt. So far no cooling or charge issues and car runs noticeably better.

Another note...Not everyone's underdrive pullies are the same size. Best bet is measure your routing with a piece of string through the tensioner, subtract 1/2 to 3/4" and buy that belt.

Yea I heard about the string concept, just did not know how much to subtract. Thanks for letting me know for future modifications.

Lsx swap huh... Not happy with your 331? ryclef..

I have a build thread laying it all out in the build ups section so I'm not gonna Hi-jack this thread but long story short....No. pushing 500whp through a stock block and wanting more wasn't cutting it for me. check out the build thread and we can elaborate from there!
