Ok so my car has been running a little funny all week. since i put it back onto the road (monday) and my girlfriends brother works for vip (a parts store like advanced, autozone. ect.) and he scanned it for me tonight and it says it has a misfureing #4 cylinder. i just did the plugs and wires last winter so i dont know. so i put in a different sparkplug to see if it was the plug and it was still doing it. not as bad but its still bucking and doesnt seem to run right. Could it be the coil? please help.

Thanks

any coolant or crap down in the hole? check the boot to make sure theres no cuts, rips, tears, make sure the wire is in the boot correctly. Pull the wire out can sometimes mess up the end and cause a misfire.

Was there any carbon tracing on your plug wire boot? Switch #4 plug wire to a different cylinder and see if the misfire goes to that cylinder. If it doesn't, switch an injector and see what happens. If the misfire won't go away further diagnosing will be needed. Good luck... FYI, I put new plugs in last year and I kept misfiring on 2 cylinders. I got them at Advance Auto. Needless to say after not being able to fix the misfire I switched back to Motorcraft plugs and the misfire went away and hasn't been back since.

i replaced them just for kicks, i installed the MSD coils, about $75 a piece.

as for narrowing down the wire, you can also....

take the plug out, and stick it in the wire. unplug the opposite coil, and have someone crank the car. if you see a spark, the plug, coil, and wire are good. if you dont see a spark, put a different plug on there (from one of the other working cylinders). if still no spark, unplug the wire from the coil, and plug it into another output on the same coil. if you get a spark, its the coil thats bad. if you dont, it will prob be the wire.

glad to hear ya got it fixed... i bet ya did what i did... i was use to GM's cylinder numbering where both sides of the engine were either odd or even all the way down.. but when i got my stang i had to remember theyre mixed on both sides.. cuz 1 2 3 4 are on one side and 5 6 7 8 are on the other...
