An opportunity has come up to just remove the V6 all together. A friend with a junkyard has (i think) a 2002-ish F150 with a 2v 4.6l V8 for fairly cheap. Since I'm not overly familiar with any of the 4.6 stuff, what all can PlugnPlay? What exactly is needing to get modified to make this engine drop in? Harness differences between a 98 v6 and maybe a 98 GT? Any and all information before doing this swap with be amazing!
And part sourcing would be extremely helpful!!!

you will need
gt harness 96-98 with the computer
the top end intake with everything on it, throttle body with everything on it
engine mounts for mustang 96-98
oil pan truck may be different, pick-up tube in oil pan 96-98
this would be a start on parts to look for

auto or manual transmission i dont know you did noy mention

Your life would be much easier if he had a 96-98 Mustang, not an F150. The F150 is great for replacing an engine in an already V8 car as I did an Explorer V8 swap and just had to replace the oil pan, pick up tube and front cover.
Even then, the 98 has a different fuel tank, pump and filler neck. There are several little changes throughout the years that may make things not so easily drop in, but doable.
You can do it, we are here to help.

Ah, right. I've got the 5 speed manual transmission. Do you know if the v8 engine harness will connect to the base model body harness? I've been seeing online thay the connectors might be different.
