Ok, so my passenger side window stopped working a while ago. I recently bought a new motor and it still wont move up or down. I plugged the new motor into the drives side to make sure the motor wasn't defective and it works fine. I though it was a broken switch but there is voltage getting to the passenger side wire right before the motor. So the motor is not broken and gets voltage, is there something I'm missing?

The power window switches/ relay module switches power and ground to the window motor.

So say if the two wires at the motor are red and yellow (guessing)...

Up on the switch---Red would be +
--------------yellow would be ground

Down------yellow would be +
--------------------red would be ground.

Yea they reverse polarity, but it seems the wire that is supposed to become ground doesn't become ground. It only works when i ground the wire to the body of the car. So if im using the same scenario as you use where red is + when Im moving the switch up the only way to detect voltage is to ground it to the body, if i ground it to the yellow wire it shows no voltage which means its not grounding.

probably a bad switch, could be either on the drivers side or the passenger side because of teh 5 wire system that is used. if the drivers side is dead it will take out the passenger side with it because it uses a master/slave operation. check for power on the back of the switch.
