i can't speak from experience on this one but i'd defiantly say there are a lot better things you can spend 70 bucks on for your mustang

If you are just installing a performance chip without getting a custom
dyno tune then save your money and get something else for your mustang.
All the performance chips do without a custom tune is trick your PCM to lean out your air fuel ratio to make a small amount
of power but this can be a potential danger to your engine as lean conditions can possibly cause detonation
and could damage your engine.
A tune should be your last performance mod.
Get a chip installed or handheld programer with a custom dyno tune.
Monitoring and correcting the AFR is key.

when i bought my car back in May, i was told that the engine was replaced at 100k miles for reasons unknown. it also came with an N64-era chip duct-taped into the EEC service port that was causing it to run rich. are you thinking what i'm thinking? i don't know if rich conditions/ the chip would cause this, but it if the engine wasn't blown and the car was taken good care of then it doesn't look good for the chip. i pulled it out regardless. after i've finished all of my mods i'm taking the car to a dyno and getting a custom chip burned to my specific setup. i have read :book1: that the computers in our cars (esp. '94 and '95) are really restrictive with governors and spark retarders, etc., and this can probably be defeated with a chip. just my two cents.

generic mail-order chip = :tard: :angry7:

custom chip with a dyno tune =

Read up on the sct power programmers. Xcal's are great and they can hold up to three custom tunes which you can pick from at anytime. They plug right in and tunes can be changed with the press of a button. A bit more pricey but worth it. You can also datalog with a xcal. I had someone datalog my car when it was running lean and helped me get right to the problem.
Not to knock on any chips because I have no expirience with them but I've seen them go bad and cause problems.
Just my two cents. Good luck.

Try some basic upgrades first. ie CAI, upper plenum, pulleys, TB, headers, exhaust then get a SCT Xcal3 and get it tuned. The Xcal3 is an awesome piece that you can dial in everything from shift firmness to turning off your O2 sensors. Don't just throw your money around plan it out first.
