i'd do the pi intake and cams first...you'll love the extra power and want to drive the car alot more often...then save for the suspension.

I'm the exact opposite, lol. I would do the suspension first. It's really just a personal thing.

With no experience, but a good internet connection and all the tools, gasket's, and bolts beforehand it should take you a weekend.

Its not that hard at all and there are a few how to install write ups.

I would do the handling first. Plus you will have your car looking and riding good. then worry with the power.

Just wondering but has the full PI H/C/I swap fallen out of favor? no one seems to want to do it anymore... o well

Why bulk up the suspension for NPI power ? He may think suspusnions sounds good now ,until some little ricer runs neck and neck with him.

I think a lot of guys are intimidated by the FULL pi swap. Plus its a little costly as far as swap parts. Not including H/C/I.

suspension first! make use of what power you have now!

Booooooooo suspension !

Hooray PI !

Lemme repeat. :hammer:

Its not like hes adding a KB boosted forged block with 20 PSI . The suspension he has now will handle the swap fine. Yeah an aftermarket suspension would be nice, but he should get that later after he determines his needs.

It won't break or anything, but he could cut a ton off his et with suspesion, especially if he does a tubular K. And it would handle alot better obviously.

It would be interesting to see a stock suspension PI swap and a swapped suspension NPI run at the track. I would put my money on the NPI.

You cant hear a suspension driving by ,lol.

When people here a muscle car coming by ,they dont go "damn I wonder what kind off control arms he has on that bad boy". :thumb:

HP is more fun and its something non-car people can understand.,and your not racing for ET's in every day traffic. I understand the importance of a well tuned suspension,I really do.But to each his own.

npi loses on the big end.

stock PI motor makes, at the least, 30 rwhp over the stock NPI motor. PI also makes more power up top due to the better flowing heads and intake. NPI might get the jump off the line but would get run down, JMO :dunno:

i dont disagree with building suspension before motor only because ive seen horrible things happens to nice cars. Mustangs already handle well, throw some springs and shocks on it and it'll handle a little better and look real cool.

can you swing springs and shocks and the PI swap? thats my vote!!

Good point. After that initial squat, its about the numbers and powerband.

ive been in a similar race scenario, me on 315 DR's (2.0 60') with bolt ons and gears running against a CAI, exhaust 99+ GT... its not pretty :nonono:

i Say cams and intake. your stock suspension is setup for your stock powerlevels, no need to tinker with it yet O0

I'd say suspension IF you didn't have an auto. With an auto, you aren't going to take quite as much advantage from the potential traction that suspension would offer unless you've upgraded the torque converter (can't launch as hard).

Power is nice, but the speed of any car (drag, road racing, etc.) is in the chassis and suspension. 03-04 Cobras at the drag strip are a perfect example of this. Power is more fun though 8)
