I was wondering what PI CAMS do to your engine, is it a power increase and so how much? Is it just for racing or can you drive your car as a daily driver? Also how much would they cost. I have a 98 GT automatic which im ready to start building. I looking to make it Manual if that makes any difference.

the difference between the PI cams and the NPI cams is lift and duration. i believe the PI cams have a longer duration (the time the valve stays open) and a higher lift (how much the valve is opened). because of this, the car actually does gain quite a bit of power, if i remember right you would be looking at getting about 10-15rwhp on an manual car, not sure for the auto.

you can use the PI cams as a daily driver, afterall ford used them in the 99+ cars. you can find them for cheap, less than $100 a pair ( i would pay between $60-80). try to get the Romeo PI cams, these are identical to your cams because they have the bolt-in cam gear, vs the Windsor cams which have a press on-gear.

@15rwhp and with the PI intake you get up to @ 30rwhp and more HP higher in the RPM Range.

Check the classifieds, see them go for $50-100 usually depending on shape. The Windsor are fine to use also and just as easy to swap in and usually go for less because people are afraid of them.

MHS rocks  (great sponsor)

that they do. wasnt aware they were a sponsor on this site?

yeah, the romeo PI cams are easy to find, you can also try ebay, but you run the risk of getting the NPI cams. if you do get them off ebay, try to get the casting number thats etched into the cam, and just search for that number on yahoo or google, you'll usually get the answer there. worst case, call ford with that casting number and see if they can help.

tho for $60 from MHS, i would just get them from him.

I went to the site, where are the $50 -$60 cams, all I saw was $580 for them. I dont mind the $60 if I could find them I would buy them right away.
