pi intake swap

I'm about to do my intake swap cuz my manifold recently cracked and I was wonderin whick gaskets I need to get, pi or npi,

I did a search and some threads said use pi and some said npi

i did the pi gaskets 1st, but that didn't work out too well. so went back to npi gaskets & just sealed the air ports closest to the center of the engine. works fine.

I am using PI with no problems. When using PI gaskets, you have to RTV the coolant jackets on the passenger front side and driver rear side. When using NPI gaskets, you have to RTV every intake port. NPI is a lot more work, if you ask me. And honestly, the amount used on the PI gaskets is just a little amount, only a dab really.

yeah, npi is more work, but i couldn't get the coolant jackets to seal up for very long with the pi gaskets. maybe i didn't let it cure long enough, dunno.

well i used the pi gaskets and no problems, did the swap yesterday and let the rtv set overnight and fired it up today and took it for a test drive and im very impressed, why didnt ford do this from the beginning

that is what i did. make sure cut off the line up pegs. it will work great
