For all those that have done the PI swap, have you noticed any better or worse mpg? Have you been able to keep your foot out of it long enough to know??? LOL. I`m still on the fence on whether or not I wanna do the full swap, or just intake and cams.

I keep track of my mpg on every tank and for the first few months i was romping the gas every traffic light etc so mpg went down but after i got used to it i got back to where i was prior avg @ 21-23 mpg.

When i went to ported heads/cams etc it went down to 18mpg which isn't bad but i think i could do better if i tried which i don't.

So it really has no effect on mpg, if your driving normally. That`s good to know, might make my choice easier. Thanks guys

Sounds good, I think I`m gonna save up and do the full swap. I`ve got 3:27 in the rear, still stock.

i just finished my first tank on the pi swap with cams. 278 miles to the tank. ( i'm not bone dry yet but ive only got 1/8th of a tank left on the guage ) meaning i could probably go another 40-50 miles.

Maybe you need a tune up and clean/replace filter, O2's etc etc and try different oil. I read in the maintenance section that changing oil grade can add mpg. Next oil change i'm trying the 0W30 to see if it ups my mpg at all. Some say it can add up to 4mpg so we'll see.

with the ported PI heads and my lovely 2.73 rear gears I can still manage 26 MPG all highway.
