PI Swap dyno sheets

I found these old sheets, after I had done my PI swap i hit the dyno up.. no other supporting mods except exhaust.. other than that they car was stock with a PI swap and a 100 shot nitrous lol... Also this is a bad bad bad tuner (motor blew on dyno) but the 2nd graph is the a/f and once you pick your mouth off of the ground just say, "wtf was that guy thinking" needless to say i don't go there anymore lol.

251 hp 335 tq 1st NA pull
298 hp 376 tq 2nd NA pull (pulled some timing)
332 hp 484 tq 1st nitrous pull
356 hp 489 tq 2nd nitrous pull
278 hp 400 tq last Nitrous pull ( yeah i don't know how to explain that one except a/f was so wacked up that it blew a head gasket tore my heads up and some how 3 pistons disappeared )

that all lead to a built motor and my procharger but for those of you who are thinking about doing the PI swap those are dyno sheets from the PI swap and had my car been tuned correctly probably would've been in the higher 300 range on a 100 shot

i'm not sure what he was thinking but it wasn't the right thing.. it's ok though the company ended up paying for all new forged internals and the machine work on my old block... lol (although they screwed up on a 8 bolt crank and had a 6 bolt and had to pay to have that fixed) lol

sucked because i was so pissed off.. i didn't even ride with them home i said f you guys, i'll walk (like an hour drive to my house) ha ha

I learned from that though and went to someone know knew what they were doing this time

Soo..I'll be making 330ish torque after my heads(decked) hitech stage 2 cams and intake..cause I have full bolt ons minus headers. :p

I had shorty headers, full exhaust, and that was stock block and PI heads, PI cams, PI intake mani... but i'm pretty sure that i had a freak block because it felt really strong...

a normal pi swapped car wont make 300 rwhp...that sounds like a fucked up number.


pi swapped npi cars usually make 250-280 rwhp depending on the level of bolt ons.

cams/long tubes and a pi swap usually will yield around 300 rwhp

Correct, you wont see 300rwhp w/out cams and full bolt ons + anything that will help like springs. Even then it's not common, you usually need stage 2 cams if you dont have ported heads. Think about it people, this is 99+ stock stuff. You think a bolt on 99-04 GT will get you 300rwhp? Compression's only netting you 5 here.


Those a/f ratios are absolutley insane. Must have been running so hot.

Yea....Ive heard that an engine runs best right before it comes apart...lol

and ive heard leaner is meaner before :dontknow:


Maybe the combination of his engine coming apart an him running 17:1 a/f ratio got him another 50 rwhp....lol

I have no idea what happened there.....

I have no idea what happened there.....
While adding timing and pull fuel helps make more power, past a certain point you'll lose power exponentially. There's a 1 point sweet spot. If you should be around 12.9-13.1 - 13.8 would net you a good amount of power. 16-17:1 is basically pulling a fuel injector, lol. Mad power!

haha, i'm pretty sure that it was leaner and meaner and then it fell apart.. last pull of the night nitrous pull..

not sure what really happened.. OH wait!! THE A/F !!!

um not sure why it was running so high, inless for some reason the pi heads i bought the guy from and the cams weren't pi cams but like comp cams i really don't have any clue, all i know is that this company hung my motor up to dry :(

Adding PI heads and Cams will lean you out. But not that much. I got a tune from Tim of MPH for PI heads and stage 1 cams, then ended up with stage 2 ported heads, and it was on the unsafe side of being lean, so that gives you an idea. But nothing like that. My guess is your MAF wire was gunked up, that usually results in being lean.
One thing's for sure, if you're lean (especially that lean) after a run, the last thing you want to do is run a bottle at it.

I was not tuning the car i was watching the pulls and they obviously had no clue what they were doing... ended up being a long night, a even worse day the next day fighting with the shop and just in the end just pissed me off..

but now i've got a built block and so on

I'm in no way saying it's your fault. Just when I was on the dyno and i put 2 high AFR runs down (once after cleaning MAF), i called Tim and had him email me an altered tune. Most of these shops can't be relied upon for any real knowledge - as you found out.

yeah, but then again when your an idiot and you are just learning about cars mistakes are made. I learned that i should take my modular mustang to a shop that specializes in modular mustangs lol
