Im going to be running my Gt-40P heads with 1.90/1.60 valves, with a CRANE

2031 Cam, but in the damn website it says they recommend with 1.7 roller

rockers but some people tell me to just go with 1.6 roller rockers because of

piston to valve clerance. I wont be getting very much performance with 1.6

roller rockers. The cam specs are as followed the duration is (2.14 I, 2.20 E)

valve lift is {.513 I/529 E## this is using 1.7 roller rockers. What is the best

cam i can use with out any PTV clerance, So damn hard choosing cams, If i

dont go with the CRANE 2031 , what do guys think of the Ford Racing letter

cams, I was thinking maybe B or E cam. Most important it has to be SMOG

LEGAL.

what about the steeda #19 cam. onyxcobra has that cam in his car. that cam is mild enough and shouldnt be a problem with the heads you have and should work well with your heads. the motorsport cams are decent cams, however with your setup you would benefit more with a dual pattern cam such as the #19 cam. dual pattern cams usually have more duration and lift on the exhaust side to make up for the poor port design of the stock 5.0 type heads.

deja vu. lol anyway yeah the Steeda #19 is another option, i run it with 1.7 rockers and 1.9" intake valves with zero problems on stock bottom end.

You'll hear me say this alot......GO CUSTOM.....its worth the extra coin. If your runnin the p heads and maybe trick flow intake like someone I know used to have (me) with a custom cam you CAN put 295 to the wheels with a nice broad torque curve. I actually still have that cam.....if your interested. This was with no piston to valve issues with 1.6's.
