Youre looking at an explorer 4.6l that had chain guides! Granted they were plastic guides, but most all modulars had plastic guides. Question is, where did they go? Also note plastic tentioners!

Good timing for me, should I make longer plungers? My chain has lots of free play from cutting the deck and head. You said the plastic ones are weak.

Well you can not shorten the chain by taking out 1 link the way they are assembled. 2 links would have to be removed to work and that is too big of a jump for the chain to ever go back on the gears.

Well that stinks!

Ive drawn up 5.4l chain tentioner guides that has a bigger curve to them, so taking up more slack and not being so dramatic to the tentioner. I did cut a few out, but not having any time to R&D killed the project.
