POD Clock help

when i brought my 1995 the clock never work. I replaced the clock yesterday and i noticed a burn mark on the old clock connector female end.

Anyway, i installed the new clock and the SOB didn't work either. All of sudden while driving the clock pops on. Then out of no where it goes out again. I realized when i turn on the headlights the POD clock dims, but the clock goes bright when i turn of the clock off.

If i keep the headlights on the clock will slowly fade all the way off.

(btw i like the clock and its here to stay =)

From the searching i did it seems the problem is more common on 94-95 GT's. I never had this problem on my 97GT!

maybe removing it and soaking it in Mt Dew would help?

Sigh.. these 5.0's have problems my 4.6L never had.. from hids to the pod clock now.

i haven't really looked at that before, but it's tied into the dimmer switch i'd look at the connection between the two.
If the wiring's burned, is there a bad resistor or wire damage somewhere between the source and clock?

My clock still works. I've had no probs with my HID's in the 6 months they've been installed.

Mine did the same thing years ago, it would come and go, I assumed it was a loose connection. I decided my cd player had a clock already and that spot was better fit for my radar detector.
