Polishing SS Exhaust

Im not big on polishing the exhaust because its under the damn car, but considering you can see the majority of the cat-back on my car and when the pinion seal went it stained my tails brown were the exhaust passes under the rear. Thinking about removing the tails for a week or so that way i can polish them up but i don't know where to start.

The tails were wet sanded smooth and wiped down with never dull polish but there still dirty here is a pic.

Anyone reccomend a polish that might work better on SS?

That looks nice. I think I used either mother's or mcguire's. It was in a small jar and was a white paste. It worked good for me but I didn't go up as far as you did. Awesome job!

I've used FLITZ metal polish. It's good for all kinds of stuff. There's lot of good polishes out there though. Just pick one and get to it. I would definately look into some type of power tool, since you have a lot to do.

I am currently knee-deep polishing a 94 cobra intake. Thorco3 did a nice write up on how to polish, looked over it a few times this week myself.

Go to harbor freight as they have a number of different tools, polishes and buffig wheels to choose from.

The polish is probably the least critical step here FYI.

You really need to sand the shit out of them with like 10 grits of sand paper all the way up to 1500- 2000 grit...if you do that, any polish should make them look awesome!

I already sanded them down a bunch with 800 then 1500, i didn't have much else to choose from and i try to work with what i have in the garage lol. there smooth to the touch as of right now and i have a few more options on sand paper now so im thinking i might re sand them to help get em smooth and try to get some of the surface dirt off.

I watched a guy on youtube use Flitz and it gave the gun barrel/feed ramp a mirror like shine was looking at that or the Mothers Billet polish

I have a older high speed buffer i was thinking about using to make it easier...

I plan on taking the pipes off when ever i get a chance and just running it open muffs for right now. Figured while i wait on wheels ill give it my best shot at polishing them up at the apartment garage with my drill and this attachment i grabbed from work with a buffer pad. Just have to buy some polish
