its actually a known problem on the t-45, and ford offered a voulentary recall on them. basically there is something wrong with the synchros/casting of the reverse mechanisim in the transmission that will cause it to be hard as hell to into reverse and then pop out once in. i think ford MIGHT have extended the warranty on these transmissions up to 90k miles or something like that, not sure tho. it was never a recall, it was just a TSB. if anyone came in with these problems, ford already knew about it and just replaced the transmission with a new one. no way of fixing it cheaply w/o getting into modifying it, if it really bugs you that much you should just look into buying a new transmission. any rebuild isnt going to help you at all, trust me, i tried it. got tired of it, and after i blew out the 3-4 shift fork for a 2nd time in a row, i just bought a used t-45 off a cobra.
