I've always been under the impression that guys weld on a skid plate or skid bar or somethign that will scrape before the frame or bumper ever hits the ground, this way they can put on a spark show without toasting any major components like the frame. Once the plate or bar is worn down too much weld on another. :dunno:

Not too actiony, the run had just started and the camera had a very high shutter speed so you can't really see much of a blur..

I LOVE that car. I remember seeing it in MM&FF a long time ago and thinking it was one of the nicest 4 eyes that I had ever seen. Still is today.
