So my winter beater, a 2002 grand am has a window issue. It seems as though the motor is not connecting with the window. The motor is fine, it runs, but it just isn't pulling the window down. I swear to go I hate GM's. My 94 Mustang with almost double the mileage has had less problems in 2 years then this car has in 2 months.

Is this an easy fix? If I have to replace the motor I'm not gonna be happy lol.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Tomorrow I'll try to take the door panel off. I'm hoping the lifting mechanism just needs to be reconnected somehow. I'll do it redneck style with duct tape and super glue ha.

I've had a similar problem before on another vehicle and it seemed like the motor was working okay, but it didn't have enough strength to push the window up. I've also replaced the power window bushings on both sides of my Stang. Good luck!

Ahhh... this fix is TOOOOO EASY

Had to do it a few months ago...My window was stuttering them bam....all of a sudden it failed

If your going to fix it you might as well get a whole new window motor

Pop of door panels.....Remove speaker....remove the 3 screws to the window motor.....stick your have in the hole where the speaker was and remove window motor.....then do everything in reverse...

I have install pics if you'd like me to upload them....

The window motors are only like 40$ at advanced auto parts

GM's are different tho. On mass produced cars like the grand am, and in my case a cavalier, the window regulator and motors are riveted in. There should be about 7 or 8 rivets to drill out and you can either use the supplied rivets to replace or I like to use nuts and bolts with thread lock. Good luck but just make sure the window is correctly in the track when reassembling, I'm speaking from experience on that one.
