ok so my car did this to me last night but then it was fine after cycling the key once. right now its in my driveway when i turn the key over i get a half assed key tone(when you open your door with the key in) and it beeps i can hear the tone on the fuel pump change and the tach jumps to about 2k rpms. this is all with the key set to on not trying to start it. once i try to start it i get a fast set of clicks. then nothing, motor doesnt turn or anything.

any help would be great.

fast set of click half assed dinging , sounds like a low battery to me , Jump ur car take it to an auto zone and have em check ur Cold cranking amps on ur battery , might be dead , also while your there have them check the Altenator charging system , might be this over your battery.

shit...

the battery is 3 years old so it could be. i've also had to put in 3 alternators in the last 2 years so i know theres a gremlin hiding in there somewhere.

just seems kinda weird. the battery always has a full charge unless im working on the car and want my stereo playing for hours on end.

i did however get it to start up, after about 15minutes on the charger and a few taps of a rubber malet to the battery terminals, worked like there was never anything wrong with it.

also common issue , MUFFLER BEARING ! ok j/k are the terminals tightened down properly ? are they slightly rusted ? is there a thin layer of corrosion on the inner of the terminal (sometimes not always seen) are your terminals PAINTED (amazingly a red pained and black pained terminal will slow down the battery charge enough to have this issue over time) Also dont spray the Anti corrosion RED spray on there (think if the corrosion is a film that stops a charge whats a film to stop a film going to do . . . just do that and cjheck your charging system if the issue were you have to keep replacing alt's continues find an auto electrition to trace it out.
