Ok my buddy has a 94 gt with 92k on it and the speedo doesnt work.. We have bought a new one and installed it but it still is being fd up... You will be in first gear and while your going 5 it will say 30 and in second gear it pegs it to max.. We are taking the speedo part off the tranny and checking that but if there is anything else please help...

Get out your volt/ohm meter and test the vehicle speed sensor.

Resistance should be between 190 and 250 ohms. If its not then it is time to replace it rather than your speedometer.
