Here is a close up of the i/c brackets mounted after being painted and looking nice. I also just noticed that the bracket for the disks is not in the right place on the rear, so I have to make a call. lol.

Re: Project Vert, outta control....

That's it for now! I have the brake brackets out being machined to work with the 9" ends(hopefully!!), and the rear end girdle/cover is on its way, and the new calipers for the rear cobra brakes are on their way too. Next pics should be of the brakes on the car, then the wheels and down it comes!!! We also have to put on a new master cylinder and make some changes to brake lines under the hood and the proportioning/metering valve too.

Re: Project Vert, outta control....

Wow!!! wohooooo!!!!! I am so stoked!!!! the wheels are on it, and it is down on the ground, just for some teaser pics mind you, but at least it is down!!! Ok, so first off, I narrowed the rear end housing by 3/8" on each side, and got the axles shorter by that much as well, since they are nine inch style axles. Problem came up tho, the axles are made for a spool, and since this is a cruiser, I got an eaton for it, and now the axles are hitting the pin. So I told Matt to grind both sides of the pin down, mark it so he gets it flat on the sides touching the axle, and then the axles will come in as far as they are supposed to. Actually the pin does very little in this setup. Also, the brackets are going to work. Found an article on the corral here: http://forums.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=446998 . It is for using sn95 brakes on a fox with stock width axles but not buying expensive bracketry. I also now have the pbrake cables on it, and the pbrake assembly is being modified now for the new setup. The master cylinder is also now replaced and the metering block has been gutted with the FRPP kit. I am ordering a wilwood adjustable proportioning valve and it should be in on Monday. Well, I am just stoked!!!! I am smiling ear to ear!!!! Can't wait to get home and drive it now!!!!

For the brake rotors, just beadblast them, then have them turned, then mask off the "swept" area and paint the rest.

Lookin' good.

Needs more through-the-floor subframe connector. :)

It needs somethin! That's for sure! It is going to get some chassis stiffening. I have in my head what I want to do, and I just don't trust somebody else to do it as I have it envisioned. So it's going to have to wait until I get back and have the opportunity to do it. Or it will wait until I give up and just let someone else do it to save time. lol.

Thanks Paul!

Ok, so a bunch of progress! Here is the rear axle with the diff cover on it, lookin sweet!!! Brake lines still haven't been routed or connected in this picture. They were finished the next day, and should have some pics of it after we get everything cleaned up.

Ok, here's the brakes painted and test fitted before we got the rotors machined smooth and the paint removed at the same time, lol. looks pretty good, 9" ends, and swapped from left to right side, and mounted on the inside, had to open the hole up in the center pretty big to clear the 9" ends.

Don't forget the splash guards on the front inner fenders.
Actually, I think they lost it. Have to find it and then get it back in there, but first it is going to a buddy of mine's shop and I am having him fix two or three little soft spots of rust in the metal, then paint the underneat with POR15 afterwards, then it gets the interior finished out and detailed all over, then sit up on a pedestal in the garage, lol.

And here are some of it out in the sunshine, dusty as heck, but you get the idea. The sway bar is on, and I have requested some pics of that, and will post them up as soon as they are ready. Can't wait to get home and drive this thing. I have to find 91-93 front ground effects that go between the wheel and the bumper cover, the wheels are hitting a little on turns. I also need to get the different a arms for up front to pull the wheels in just a little, and center the wheel in the well. Can't frickin wait!!!!

that's my shop in the background of the pics too. There is also a small body shop and interior shop on the other side of my property. It makes it nice when I need little stuff done. You can see the ladder in the entrance to the showroom, they are remodeling it, and you can see a car up on the dyno rack getting ready to make pulls, they were putting the O2 sensor in, the rack makes it very nice.
