Question about NPI to PI

So a few weeks ago I blew out a spark plug. Motor is a 97 has 165k with 410s no Speedo gear change. It looks to me to run 20% over on the Speedo and mileage.

I have a guy that has a 99 FSB that has forged crank and pistons under 10 k as low as 6 k on the motor. I made an offer and he accepted
And another guy that has a fresh set of PI heads and intake that I'm going to pick up.

My question here is will all the other stuff from my motor work on the new PI motor. I know I need to get head gaskets. What else will I need to do the swap? Is the 99 block the same as my 97?

Yes, but you will have to run your 97 timing chain cover so you can keep your NPI accessories.

I was worried if the timing cover would even work, Im new to the modular world. But now that I know it does I will finish pulling the motor.

I had to keep my 98 timing chain cover and valve covers and some brackets. I think it was the alternator bracket, coil brackets(unless your going to run coil on plugs) and my plug wire brackets that go on the valve covers. Dont toss anything until youre completely done.

you will need to buy intake gaskets, front cover gasket, water pump nipple for the coolant tube underneath the intake, and a new torque to yield bolt for the crank pulley. all this is available from ford, u can pm steven- which is his screen name here- as he works for ford and can get you the parts for a good price. also, the dipstick may give you trouble going in, i bought a flexible one from lokar.
