Dal, if the gauges were at the bottom wouldn't you have less trouble with sun glare? That or you could just move to Rochester and you don't have to worry about sun lol.
farther down the gauges are=farther from the road your eyes have to move.

good thing your eyes can move fast then lol

they should be easier to see in the middle there, and I just like the position of them in the upper slot.
AC controls is much nicer down low. should have been there from the factory IMO.
I'm totally going to do this on the 67 interior.

Pauls plate is a nice piece. it's annodized and comes with the fasteners to mount it.
I just ordered another one (67)

Onyx - yes totally would since they light up. the plate fits that spot perfectly, I just like them better in the upper slot.
I thought about getting different gauges, but cant drop the coin on them right now. should be better in the middle there vs by the window/a pillar.

That looks awesome! I remember seeing it once but does anyone know of a place online where you can send a CAD file and they can cut the shape out for you? It would be pretty easy to draw up a piece that would fit perfectly in their

Glad you finially got those done.
Awesome change. I'm going to be doing the same thing eventually.
I don't know if it could be copying since I was already thinking about doing it, you just beat me to the trigger.
Have you thought about changing over to black carpet? I just did mine and and I changed the whole look of the interior.

Haha thanks, I found that right after I posted. I drew the basic shape and they wanted $100 for it in 1/16 aluminum. I dont think it would be worth it.

I know old thread and all BUT, quick question. Since you have intimate knowledge of the size of the HVAC controls, could they be installed under the center console where the ashtray and cig lighter are? I am thinking about moving mine down there but I want the door to open and close. I am okay with dremeling out the panel for the ash tray etc to access the switches.

They could be moved anywhere as long as you extend the lines far enough now making it look good though will be a challenge.

would be a challenge for sure. all the vac lines would be the toughest. trying to hide and extend those would be a biiiitch!

I think that would be a lot of work.
lines aren't long enough and I think the door is a little close to clear the knobs, unless you cut out the inside piece and made some type of bracket.
they seem wider than the size of the door as well...
