I thought up this a long time ago, it just came back to me though! I was driving back from getting gas (36 miles away). I could see the rain clouds coming down about 25 miles from me. As I got near a town you drive through, it started spitting on my windshield. Not enough to get on my hood or my back glass, so light! This brought on a question! If I was to have my top lowered, would the cab get wet? I think the wind draft would carry it over my cab area! My hood and my back glass stayed dry as ever! The 'air draft' caused rain drops to never to touch them! I know if you started from 0 MPH, it would get wet! I was going 70 though when I hit the weather! Even as I was going 35 through the towns, never hit my hood!! I think it could work! There is no true myth though!! What do you think of it? See ya!!

You wouldn't get wet . I open my sunroof when it rains and I don't get wet, unless its raining hard or I slow down. Also on the highway we were driving home in a truck with my quad in the bed covered in mud (dry) and it starting raining but the quad was stayed dry.

I figured this would work!! I already had my top closed because I could see it was fixing to come down. It never did though! Good to know if I have it down on my future trips though! I just needed some backing up on that thought. Thanks!

The real me i still pretty dang smart! My fubar brain just keeps me doubting myself, all the time!

Re: Any one watch Mythbusters?

I think the rain will come get you a little wet in a vert - from behind! The air comes over your windshield bough, and starts to drop a little. Most of it aerodynamically goes straight back to the trunk area and rear wing, but a little (from the bottom of the layer of air as it leaves the bough) drops in behind the front seats. As the air passes over the bough, it creates a vacuum just underneath the bough and toward the inside of the windsheild, and the air that dropped in behind the seats comes forward toward the vacuum. That is the reason that your hair (or your girlfriends/wife's) blows FORWARD in a vert.

I've had to dry my insides off twice. One day I was pushing the envelope and should have put my top up! The next time, the sun was shining very bright! I could not help it that time.

I've done it. Had my top down it started raining but I didn't get wet. I debated pulling over to out it up but since I didn't get wet I just left it down.

Re: Mythbusters 6/18 show!!

They are doing what I asked about! I just started it, but can't wait to see the results. Even though I think y'all decided I would get wet. They said it was requested from their fan site. I typed it on there, but a long time ago. Didn't truly forget, but sure didn't think about it that much. Kinda cool, I think.

I saw that one the other night to........."PLAUSABLE, BUT NOT RECOMENDED" they had to go 90mph before they would stay totally dry. But at 70mph they stayed reasonably dry, but don't stop.

Re: Mythbusters 6/18 show!!

I thought that was a new show. I then saw Kari did not have a belly, I knew she was pregnant! I then went back to see the original show date. It was from 5/27. Guessed I recorded something else the times this 1st showed. When I looked & asked on the MB forum, I was the 1st one to bring this up. Maybe others asked, I think I got this going though!

I looked back @ the posts. I always thought you would stay dry. Y'all mentioned the hair blowing to the windshield area. I still kinda thought for the most part, you'd stay pretty dry.

Re: Mythbusters 6/18 show!!

The biggest problem is if you have to stop and it is still raining

Was driving home with my son a few weeks ago and out of nowhere it started to rain, figured we were almost home so why bother stopping. Hit a red light and that's when I realized it wasn't a good idea.
