Got all the goods in now, just need to install it. Went with a Detroit True Trac, Moser 31s, complete bearing/seal kit from FRPP.

Now, the question. I have been running 4.10s in the car the past 4 years...BUT it hasnt been at the power level its at now. I had two seperate tuners tell me they would go with 3.73s in a setup like this. I run 28" tall tires, and everyone knows my converter situation, but it will be in the range of 3000-3500 converter. What do you guys think, I need a new ring and pinion, should I stick with 4.10s or go with 3.73s? The one tuner told me a car almost identical to mine except with a novi 2000 was bouncing off the rev limiter w/ 4.10s in the 1/4, which is why he suggested 3.73s

Go with the 3.73's, 4.10 are a little too high for a centrifugal. IMO

thanks guys, yeah from my understanding blower/turbo cars like more load, which means less load. And if anything the lower gear will keep me in power band longer. The True Trac looks like a sweet unit, I'll give ya my feedback on it! I have done tons of research on the units and read nothing but good about True Trac

not 2v tech, moved and
its easier to go with a bigger tire then it is change the ring and pinion again.

I can't go bigger than a 28" which I'm already running...

and I have to change my ring/pinion because on decel I was getting a NASTY whine, meaning these gears are shot

"some" whine is a complete understatement, these things were ridiculous. I thought it was the bearings, when I told my tuner it was on decel he said right away the gears will need to be replaced

You are definitely going to run out of gear with 4.10's, I'd say 3.73's would probably fit the ticket. I'm excited to see this thing rip!

youre telling me! I was so excited to get it home from the dyno especially with what it pushed out with the converter problem its having and no meth yet. The next day I go to take it for a ride and washed it quick, happened to look under the car and there is a 2 foot puddle underneath the rear girdle...it hasnt moved since

If you're running a 28" tire, then you can move to 3.73s. If you need something in between, then you can simply switch to a 26" or 27" tire. :)

Paul.
