Well, after driving my car I'm starting to get a noise coming from the rear, and checked the fluid, was full. Has me believe its a bearing or something. Figured, might as well build the rear while this has come up, considering the build I have now and a bone stock rear wont last long anyway.

The car already has 4.10 gears and a Edelbrock cover

Was thinking about this setup:

Keep in mind this is just a street car, so I dont need any crazy setup. However, I am expecting to be in the 550-600 hp range so I do need some beef back there. What ya guys think?

I had issues with fitment on 2 sets of Moser 31 spl SN95 axels and would probably go with Strange or Superior next time.

The Detroit is a good unit, I use the Auburn Pro and its held up nicely over the last 8 years.

I also dont really understand the whole c clip eliminaters either, with a street car should I consider this, or just keep it how it is. Would I need anything else to do the install besides the axles/diff/fluid?

I have C clips in mine.
Jeggs and Summit probably sell the Superior and Strange axels.

You will need the install kit with all the bearings etc also.

With the fluid I would go Synthetic with the Ford friction modifier also.
I was told I didn't need it and my rear was clunky until I added it, nows its whisper quiet.

Yeah, I did a bit of research and I think I'm just going to keep mine c-clip as well

if i was building a rear end all over again, i would do the following.

- 03-04 Cobra 31 spline differential (carbon fiber clutches) - only $175ish through Tousely Ford
- Moser or strange 31 spline axles
- 9" ends instead of c-clip eliminators

he only reason I really like the True Trac is because of not having to worry about clutches burning out
