Not sure on stangs, but i literally just got back from replacing it on my 92 F150. There is a pin hole on the bottom side, stick something narrow up in there, then turn the key on and you should feel it move in...after it is in the cyl should slide right out. That's the way it is on my F150, and my stang is 150 miles away, so i can't go look. You may have to take off the trim around the steering column...but it should be pretty straight forward.....good luck

disconnect battery turn ign. to on position, there is a little hole in the black plastic that surrounds the wheel. you must use a skinny ice pick or screw driver push the pin in and pull the lock out. the new one should already be in position so just slide the new one right in.

There is a pin hole underneath the tumbler on the underside of the steering column, you should be able to take an awl or something of that matter and push up in it and your tumbler should be removable. Ford wants i think 45 bucks but you get 2 ford keys with it.

Will that fix the looseness in the ignition that causes the beeper to sound off when you open the door even when the key is not left in? Or do you have to replace more parts?

Keep your receipt. You might not need a new one. I have the same problem on my car, and from what Im reading, alot of people just have to clean it, and spray it with some silicone to unstick the pins.

Im hoping thats all mine is. Ive got enough money to spend on this car, lol.

ok here we go for that beeping just disconnect the harness thats what i did no problems. look on the side of the trans tunnel driver side soon as you look there should be a long whitish yellowish connector keep your door open so you know and unplug it if the beep stops your all set. just remember to keep the key in the ign.
