Some of you all may remember my old project car

Gone but never forgotten. the 4.30 beast!

I purchased this car in early Nov.

the new look! took some fresh pics today. its on step 3 of 147, so there is a long way to go. I know it looks like every other black mustang out there but just wanted to share my new project.
i love the low look, and wingless. I think it really accents the classic mustang look of the long hood and short decklid! i love it!

Sorry fellas, the step 3 of 147 comment was more a "figure of speach" than anything, but i am in the planning stages. I often get "dirty looks" lol from my home mustang club for asking so many simple questions and asking for opinions on this and that. Hey, my theory is "why reinvent the wheel" why am i going to commit the same errors as someone else. If i take a little time to ask in advance, i can avoid unnecessary mistakes.

but basically here are my plans (and im ready for the critisicsm)

gt40/explorer engine swap + supporting mods
gonna spray it
deep dish out back, all wheels completely powder coated black.
black Summit Sport Seats.

i have a Procharger that came off a Fox stang, dirt cheap. it needs to be rebuilt so it still sits on the shelf with the intercooler.

plus a ton of details ihave jotted down that am too lazy to type/

A couple things:
1. i love the way your car looks, can't beat a fresh black paint job.
2. As far as the explorer swap goes, correct me if i am wrong but they have the same pistons in them as our cars
(hypertectec or w/e...... cast) wouldn't you be better off getting a complete shortblock from a fox (forged pistons)and
swapping the heads and intake from the explorer onto that?
3. what kind of procharger is that? D1sc, P1sc.... etc. .

yup, the paint is great....not bad for a $2000 dollar car

as for the engine, i see your point...im stuck on the same question...which to do. I dont know honestly but ive got a couple of buddies who have done the swap (plus supporting mods of course) and are runnning High 12s....that works for me. im going to stay patient and just wait for the right deal to come my way.
as for hte procharger, im not 100% sure. im not going to lie. i need to touch base iwth my brother in law and ask him. it came off his fox. that will be thrown in a couple of years down the road, so i am not even giving it any attention at the time being. It would require a stout engine to make it last so its on the back burner for now...but atleast ive got it, lol.....even if its in the closet.

" It would require a stout engine to make it last."

that kinda supports what i was saying. you said you were going to have nitrous and a blower on your motor,
and those prochargers put out around 10 psi, that would be pretty straining on those cast pistons.
Even if you did get the complete explorer motor, at least rebuilding the shortblock with an aftermarket forged 302 setup
would be very good insurance. just my 2 cents.

yeah i hear ya....the nitrous would be a small shot, 75 most likely, but not nitrous and blower.....

i guess im contradicting myself but i basically want to hurry up and go fast (explorer swap and the sauce) without spending a ton of cash.

very nice! howd you get em smoked like that? ive been wanting to do that to my 96 but i have no idea how

my buddy Paul has the hook up...his painter does em...adds a little black paint to the clearcoat then sprays em. looks good. but sort of dark during the day. night time visability is fine for cars behind me. I will be swapping in some LED bulbs to enhance then brightness/visibiltiy during the day
