Ok im having a problem with the car... lately it has been acting kind of weird, the car cranks beautifully and runs great and no hardcranking, but when i'm cruising lets say at 1500 rpm in 4th gears or any gear for that matter im seeing my tach needle bounce up for a split second then come back to normal, and when it does this the car hesitates. it is very odd and it can do it repeatedly and sometimes not do it at all.....i have an msd6 digital unit, msd ignition coil, msd cap & rotor, stock distributor which is old and taylor 10.5 wires... now i was thinking it could be the msd 6 unit but i have been watching it when the car stumbles and the light on it doesn't turn off or anything. someone told me it could be the distributor, you know hall effect sensor but i just don't want to spend 100bucks on a rebuilt unit and find that it is not the problem. I checked grounds and power supply to the msd and they are all tight and rust free. PLease help me on this...anyone any ideas...is there any way to check the distributor before buying a new one?

Does it do it at all when your idling at a stop light etc - or just when your moving?

You can buy just the hall effect sensor and rebuild the dizzy yourself. There is nothing to it really. Just drive the pin out of the gear and the whole she-bang comes out. Piece of cake and rather cheap. I could be that but it does sound like you have a loose connection some where. Check all you connections and splices in the igintion system for security.
