for those that have them or know anything about them, got a few questions as i am prolly getting one for my car in a week or 2. okay so first off are all the heat extractor functional, i found a kaenen brand one, would that be functional right out of the box, does it give a lil more clearance under the hood, and if you have one where did you get yours and how is it holding up? thanks in advance

I think the one pictured on the other two cars is supposed to be like the 03-04 Cobra hoods, not the Saleen hood. 1LO94 has a Saleen Heat Extractor hood, looking for better pics right now...

In one of his threads, I do believe he said it give a couple inches of clearance, but I'm not positive.

I'm not trying to argue with you, but the OP is asking about the Saleen version of the heat extractor, not the Cervini's. According to 1LO94, the Saleen version does give a couple of inches of underhood clearance.

So just to get the fact straights,
The Cervini's and Saleen are both functional and the Saleen gives some clearance where as the Cervini's is stock height. Just trying to get the facts straight

Back when I was looking at them I recall reading that the Saleen hood adds additional height, i want to say half inch or so. could be an inch but i don't honestly remember.

As tiny as those heat extractors are, I doubt it will help anything at all. What does it matter anyway? Are you having cooling issues on the street?

thanx guys for your inputs, i wouldnt need hood pins with them would I? and do you guys like Kaenen brand products, i know that many of you love their spoiler but as far as their hoods go would they be the same in craftsmanship?

no i am not having cooling issues, i was thinking it might help take some of the heat that my vortech and engine make out from under the hood, not to mention it probably would look good.

Install a Mark 8 fan. It flows something close to 3800 CFM. That should fix up everything.

Heat exactor does not even work until you are up some speed, so that the air can blow out through the radiator, and mostly escape though the hood. On street driving, you will see little to no difference what so ever.
