found one locally, guy says it works on npi and pi cars. i know the kb roots style will work only on pi heads. can anyone verify if the saleen will work on my npi car?

look at the ports on the manifold where it bolts to the head that will tell you if it's pi or non pi. pi's look like a fat tear drop

Like any PI manifold it can be installed on a non-pi car, you just wont get the max benefit from the boost without pi heads

scoa has a page dedicated to the saleen blowers. its a series II based on the eaton m90. guy has the blower, 30lb red tops, and heat exchanger with dual fans. ill need a fuel pump and oil lines. hes asking 1300, or would it be more beneficial to get a vortech? after some reading ppl say these are ineffiecient after 12psi, unlike the kb's. i just think it would have the cool factor since my car is a clone s281

To be honest the most you'll probably see out of the Saleen Series II blower at it's max (14psi) is around 360 to the wheels.

If you're happy with that though 1300 isn't bad. I paid 1800 for a kit last year.

i may be able to get it a lil cheaper. my cars got 150k miles on it, so i cant throw much boost to it and have peace of mind. the guy sellin the vortech is asking 1100 but its been for sale for 3 months. so i could, hopefully, talk him to near 800. i would need to get the fuel pump -100, lines made at a hydraulic shop -50, intake tube kit from chicane -250, 360hp is fine, but will i be really happy.

after reasearching centrifugals make max boost at max rpm, so its always increasing. a twin screw makes max power that tapers off at high rpm. i guess when i get paid friday ill try and negotiate a price.

They aren't bad blowers at all just not a huge race blower but more of a reliable DD type blower. If you can live with maxing it out and getting @ 100hp then go for it. If you are looking for Internet bragging rights like most people then keep looking.

I can think of many things less fun than driving around in a 350rwhp Eaton Supercharged Daily Driver. Those blowers last a really long time too.
