Goin up to the shop to install my BBK headers today. Just picked up some Spectre gaskets and Moroso header bolts. Got an EGR block off plate last night and went to test fit it... broke my heat riser tube lol. So I put the plate on and welded the tube shut for the time being.
Few questions for those who have put headers on before. Will 3/4" bolts be too short for BBK headers? They didnt have any 1". Second question, has anyone used these Spectre gaskets before? Fel pros were out of stock. Last question, any tips on making this job go easier? Already have one bolt broken off in manifold, probably going to break a few more lol. Thanks a lot guys! Also, I'm in the process of restoring and tinting my fog lights, so I'll be posting pics of that soon too.

I have 1 stock bolt with my BBKs and it works, as far as length. The bolt head is a little big, but they should work OK. Gaskets should be fine, I used some of those in the past and was able to re-use them so they worked out for me.

Some tips ...
Get some PB blaster and soak all bolts for at least an hour before you start. Hopefully that will be enough time. All at the heads and the exhaust flanges.
Remove plugs and wires for easier access and so you don't bust a plug.
I would remove the upper intake as well, just for access. No need, but gives a little more room.
Remove dipstick/tube when you get that header bolt off.
If you break a bolt off in the head, the head has got to come off to fix it. Unless you get lucky with a 90* drill and a easy out.
Get some Mechanix or similar gloves to prevent busted knuckles.

Keep an eye on the header bolts for a few weeks after the install, make sure they don't back out.
