I found a real good deal on a SCT 1725 handheld and was wondering if I would have a problem using this on my car. I heard that they can only be used on 1 car? Once you use it it is VIN locked on that car? Is this true? can it be unlocked? Should I just buy a new one? Thanks.

If the stock tune was returned to the car and it was unmarried then you are good. If its still married to the other car you can have it cleared by SCT but they charge a fee to do it.

That sct model can only be "married" to one car at once. If it is unmarried and unlocked you are good. If you have to send it back to sct then it gonna cost some extra cash.

That is not an SCT product. That is a Superchips product. Totally different and SCT can not unlock those. They have to be sent to Superchips and that is if they even will unlock it. That's a generick programmer that covers all 96 - 02 4.6 Mustangs, CVs, Tbirds. Cookie cutter off the self programs that aren't worth a ****. Also the device can not be upgraded with a custom program so you are stuck with just the preload programming that works on any 4.6
