I'm not gonna go with those seats. I don't even wanna risk the safety of myself or my passenger because I wanted a cheap upgrade.

I've been very happy with my fixed back Corbeaus. Corbeaus are fairly cheap compared to other name brand seats and that does show. The cloth seats are notorious for fading quickly in the sun and mine are no exception. The only real wear I have on them is on the vinyl piece from getting in and out so much. Fixed backs are not that bad in a daily driver. Installed them in my 95 before I planned on dailying it again but they worked just fine, my 67 never even had the option of reclinable seats and I just moved my driver's side Corbeau into it.

I have been going back/forth on the seat question for over a year now. Sure the cobra's look cool when they are in good condition but that is getting harder to find, people still want $800 for a ratty pair and recovering them will run you another grand!

I thought about going with the cheap jegs seats but after sitting in one for a little while and checking out its quality I realized why it was cheaper, and why it cost less....

Looked at some cobeau's and compaired to some other brands they were priced fairly but just still wasn't sure as I could not find any around here to sit in. I was just going to get the stock seat recovered honestly as they were always comfortable for me. Then justin put his corbeau's for sale so I just got myself an early christmas present and hoped they were comfy.

Now after having them I can say there is a HUGE difference in the build quality on these and the jegs. Everything from the heavy duty brackets(thicker then stock) to the handles/bolsters is just a much more solid feel. Don't go too cheap on your seat or as they said in a wreck who knows what can happen.

Try your local junkyards too. We have plenty of s197s in there, you just have to get lucky and score the seats before anyone else does.

Scat/procar seats are very nice for the price. Had a set in my beetle. Was everything I wanted.

Yes, very easy or as complicated as you make it. I ditched the power track (never worked anyway) took some measurements, drilled a few holes in the seat frame as bolted up some manual seat tracks.. Fit just right! I stacked a couple of washers to give the drivers seat a slight rearward rake, but will be removing them. This method allows you to sit lower in the car (TONY!!!!) almost 'vette like

I'll have to look into that. I hit my head on the roof right now.
