please help! i think i want suspension stuff for christmas.. subframes, whatever! i dont know what i should buy and what is worth it for me? my car will RARELY see the track, maybe like once a month.. i say that now but it may change.. i just want a nicely setup car thats not over the top.. its daily drivin and definitely a street car.. so what would benefit me?

do i want Fox struts and shocks? i heard the travel is better with out cars and being lowered.... or do i want sn95 shocks and struts for lowered cars??
also, what brands? and with the brands, what model? (i.e. Tokico... Illumina?... etc..)

what does Jeff have done to his car?
he has like the subfames connecting front to back, and side to side..? or is that a torque arm in the middle? im guessing Maximum Motorsports subframes would be the best? i need help, suspension is not my section!

Are you refering to the black MM bace running down the middle of the car? If so I was curious of the same thing.

That is the torque arm. You are lowered all ready? If you are you can use fox shocks/struts because they use the full range of compression and rebound on our car if they are lowered. I thick the first things suspension wise should be MM heavy duty control arms, MM subframes, Eibach sway bars and that will be a very good start and it will totally change how the car drives it is unbelievable.

Trust me, The LCA will blow your mind on how good they make the rearend handle.

I got my 03/04 Cobra A arms used with 4,000 miles on them for $40.

yeah no joke on the uturn part man! when i go to my house, i park outside the front of my house (in texas we have ally ways with our garages in the back) so i park out on the street in the front of the house, and if i need to go the opposite way on the road and try to do a u turn, i will only get perpendicular to the opposite curb..

so like i start facing <--------- that way... then try to go --------> that way..... my car will end up facing UP when its time to hit the curb.. and from curb to curb, you could probably fit 4 cars side by side... its rediculous. my dads truck can almost pull the uturn and mine is worse than that..

so i looked at everything you said. i dont know if ill be able to get everything that i want because my parents said they normally spend like a thousand or so bucks, i thought it was a bit more... and the total of the stuff you listed would put me to about 1500 bucks.. so idk what i should do..

Nope, MM subframes fittment on the SFCs are great...100% perfect

sorry, but i would rather take the word of a performance shop with quite a few 8 & 9 second cars that install different SFCs all the time...

If you go to arts website, and click on the "Battery Box" link, towards the bottom he has full length subframes with seat brackets for $96, and he told me his install guy says they're just like MM... OR, check out www.usamustangs.com and in the classifieds, there's a guy named DFWTechie, he makes his own Subframes full length and sells them for $75. he's also working on X bracing for the subframes, crotch strap hold down, driveshaft safety loop, and a few other things... he's got the Subframes for the fox, and i believe the '94-'04 cars, and is working on ones for the '05+ crowd.

All of that plus a Bumpsteer kit would be pretty bomb. Bumpsteer kit will make a very nice difference on how the car feel through the wheel. If your parents wont buy the bumpsteer then i sould say you buy it and install it yourself when you install the A-Arms. Wanna save even more of the Subframes? Order them Bare Metal and paint them yourself. It mean you will also save the step of having to grind off powercoat for the welding.

...i wanted to save as much money as possible. Some shops will try to charge over $100 to weld and instal your SFCs.....do pay that. Just buy bare metal SFCs, Prep the weld area with a dremel or grinder and take it to a muffler shop and the will do the welds for $20. O0

yeah.. i have 0$ of my own money right now... everything is parent funded at the moment.

and my dads buddy has a shop on his land where he builds drag cars so i could get my sub frames welded in for like 10 bucks probably lol.. probably even free..

hes rebuilding my motor. i didn't even ask him how much he would charge, he just said "Yeah, lets do it!"

i would also get some SS Braid Brake lines.

They are cheap on Stangsuspension.

Honestly, it will blow our mind on how much of a difference Braid lines make on braking. It will give you so much controll of your braking system

i almost got in a wreck trying to do that haha.. i rev match now thanks to you (i think) and saying it ruins your motor mounts and clutch and all that.. and i can't believe how much nicer the transition is when down shifting by simply rev matching.. but heel toeing is like 500x harder.

Rev matching is something that is a very vital skill in driving. You need to have this down solid to begin to know about heel-Toe. To rev match you need to be 100% in-tune with the car and know exactly where its points of rev and speed are.

SS Braided lines makes heel toe alot easier because it makes the brake pedal completly solid. Its like pushing brakes and instantly you have pad on rotor.
