Short shifter question...

So this may be dumb, I've been away from mustangs for about 3 years, but. Are there any short throw shifters that are interchangeable? For example, I just picked up a '98 GT. it has the T45, I have a 3550 in the garage with a short throw on it. Can I use it? I figured I'd ask before I take the console apart to look myself. Easier o type than tear don. lol

Pretty sure they aren't interchangeable. Only ones from a T5 will work with the T45. An easy way to check is do a google search on your shifter, itll tell you the years itll fit on.

The 3550 needs a rebuild... It's a backup. lol... That whole check the numbers thing was a no brainer... Thanks. I've been so stoked about getting back into a stang, that I've gone brain dead on most common sense stuff like the Interweb... Lol
