I want to get some shorty headers soon. Should I get equal or unequal? I see from that searching FRPP shorty headers are recommended. Is M-9430-N95 that part # I need?

unequal. unless you have a full on race car. but then you'll want long tubes for racing.
I have bbk's. some have complained about the supplied gaskets but I haven't had any probs for 3 years.

I've seen some post about fitment issues with the BBK ones. Who else makes the unequals?

My equal length headers from BBK fit just fine, but they suck to get on. just un-bolt the engine and roll it a bit, I did it the hard way.

Don't know if you read this already but this link might help make your decision easier

Yeah I read that. I don't wanna go Longtubes because sometimes I have to go over a couple steap bumps and the Longtubes on my 03 rub the bumps. So I wanna go with Shortys just not sure on equal or unequal. I will be getting my local exhaust shop that installed my X-Pipe and Catback to install them.

Well, I would go unequal if your just looking for a decent power increase without headache. They will make more power than the stock ones, I will guarantee that, but how much, i dont know. I would put equal length headers on a car that Im trying to make every available HP in.

IDK about the part number that you posted, btw, just call the FRPP tech line and ask.

FRPP are the best quality headers, hands down. Only downfall is they are more expensive then others.

Really?!? My car came with a set of shorty headers that say Ford Racing Performance Parts on them and have what looks like a cap on where the EGR went. I thought they were like OE Cobra manifolds or something. And here I was thinking about taking them off and junking them for a set of long tubes.

Well I bought a set of FRPP Headers. Should I use the gaskets that came with it or buy a better set?

I would buy a set of Mr Gasket Ultra Seal header gaskets and if you're willing to spend another $50 a set of Stage 8 locking header bolts will keep you from ever having to change those gaskets again.

You can get the gaskets at Advance/AutoZone etc.

I just want to say when I first did my headers a long time ago i didn't feel like the Stg 8 header bolts would be worth it but i quickly learned that they were. After a few weeks of driving some bolts had fallen out and lots of others were finger loose. So if you don't get Stg 8 header bolts plan on retightening them every few days for a while.

My BBK shorties have the gaskets provided with them and they don't have the stage 8 bolts either.. No problems for over a year now.

Yep.

They are kind of a PITA to install but once you do, no worries.
