well my car has an issue every now and then.. i'll start it up and smoke will just POUR out the back.. burnt oil.. and then it'll clear up and be fine for weeks and so i'ved just lived with it so far. Well yesterday I started it up and it smoked so bad that it ate a whole quart of oil.. no joke i had to put a quart back in it to get it to the lower portion of just the dipstick period. Now it likes to smoke.. and smell burnt up.. ALOT. I guess my valve seals just gave up that quick? motors got a tad over 105k on it.. still runs extremely stong though. Oh well, i got a PI motor and a 5 speed thats going to be here tommorow that i'll hopefully drop that puppy in V and get it together. kinda sucks though, makes me sad :(

yeah i feel your pain. your pi motor should cure that pain though! 105k is pretty early in the cars life though :dunno:

i was thinking the same thing. maybe the previous owner didn't maintain it all that well. IDK, but at least you
have a solution already planned out. good luck with the swap.

My daily driver mustang burns/leaks oil to the tune of about a quart every month or so. The weird thing is I never see any smoke. Meh, it's got 134K on it so I'll just keep driving it until my mighty 5.0 gives up the ghost. :D

Swap that motor in!

Paul.

my car has 88k miles on it, no problems yet and my friends 94 gt has 170k miles on it and it still runs great, for being a stocker and having that many miles it still bets up and goes really nicely, still on stock clutch too

yea i guess so.. from what I could tell, it was owned by a girl who got it new in 98.. she lived on one of the extremely rich gated fancy community islands here.. when my family got it it had a bad wheel and bent axle.. so i figure it was definately hers, since women are masters ate nailing curbs like that ::) it is pretty early.. the oils clean though, kinda makes me stumped as to why.. and why its so completely random. Oh well, the PI motor and a 5 speed swap should cure it.. a good 50hp and 60tq more then my npi should help ALOT at the track.. hopefully i'll see low 8's 8)

if not 7's :D

if i had some welds with skinnys and slicks.. and launched V hard off the line and took some more weight out, it might be possible.. considering it would be a mid 8 second car with a 5 speed and slicks and weight out.. with the NPI motor ::D who says npi's cant be fast <;)

I wouldnt go to the track looking for 7's ...........they are not that easy to break unless you have more that adquiate power to run those kind of times. Look at KB's Gt, he had almost 300rwhp and 390tq and only got some 8.3s I think. If you run it great, if not dont let it bug you.

well im about .6 tenths off of that.. i picked up over a second with just exhaust gear and bolt ons.. i'd think with 50/60 and a 5speed with some slicks i'll be low 8s.. i'll launch hard though which will be alot different then his auto

Whos auto???? Your not talking about Kb are you??? ( He had a manual )

To run 7's you got to have some pretty serious power and a decent power/weight ratio. Im not saying it cant be done with what your going to have, im just saying it wont be a snap doing it.

I just looked at your sig, so your best right now as the car sits is 8.9's ????? Your going to a PI motor ( what other parts, worked heads/ cams/ better intake???? ) If not then I would NOT look for 7's out of it man.

I don't plan on 7s.. i plan on low 8's which is a low 13 high 12 second car.. it'll get alot of supporting to help free up the motor.. it won't be a slouch of a motor by any means, and i got his car confused with someone elses whoops :*(. But in all honestly, i'll be looking for low 8s and then drive it home.. thats all i want for now. Eventually i'll order a mongoose kit when I have the cash flow and then look for 7s :santa_afro:

I've heard of some early non pi heads giving up early... or rather the valve seals... who knows... maybe you were just the unlucky one.

funny thing is i got almost a factory horse compared to some folks NPI cars around here.. they were alot more sluggish compared to my GT when it was stock.. who knows, bad with the good i guess?

UPDATE though, got my parts car here, gonna have to use a different PI motor.. this ones seen some hard miles with the kennebelle that was on it.. atleast i have the 5 speed setup :D
