Slow Progress Build/Plan Thread

For a little background information on the vehicle it was purchased over eBay a few years back by my father. He decided to put a 347 stroker motor in it and the guy who did the engine swap did a shitty job so the engine ended up going to shit and now a 302 motor is back in and my father decided to get a 2006 Gt that was supercharged leaving him with an extra car. I decided to buy the car and here it is as it sits today.

The Good. The engine is dirty but now that the battery cables have been replaced it starts up nice and runs great with the small exception of a small idle problem(high idle). Im thinking it needs tuned due to the added airflow mods.

The Bad. Really nothing seriously wrong the motor for the drivers seat needs replaced which will probably be done this weekend as the part came with the car. There is some small rust in the engine bay but nothing major I will try to sand it out and spray it this weekend as well.

The Ugly. Okay I am in no way dissing anyone who has these mods but I cannot stand the aftermarket tail lights and the black aftermarket gas cap. To each there own but I like the as close to stock look as possible. SO with that being said I should have those things taken car of this weekend but I would like the eventually get 96-98 taillight with sequential harnesses. Also the engine bay is in desperate need of a cleaning.

But here is the car now:

I am seeing the cai, trick flow intake manifold, possibly performance wires and distributor cap?, and there is an exhaust mod. I am wondering if there is an easy tune available on americanmuscle or something all the SCT tuner seem to be 96+ Any ideas? also needing help breaking down the mods so I can get a somewhat accurate tune.
The progress will be slow as I won't be in the states for the next 5 months so the only updates will be parts ordered.

How much 302 is there? Is it just a short block with the 347 parts on top, or is it a 302 with stock style heads and cam? Knowing exactly what parts are bolted to it is going to be the best place to start from and give you the best idea of where you need to go form here. Visibly it looks like a stock MAF, aftermarket TB (size?) and obviously a TF intake but other items would help determine what way you need to go.

Im thinking it's a stock 302 with just the TF intake and CAI. My dad sold the blown 347 motor so i am guessing none of it remains. Im not too concerned with power as this car has more than enough for me the biggest thing is getting it tuned. I may just bring it to a reputable mustang guy and see what he says.

Okay, so I am trying to decide on the 94-95 tail lights or 96-98 tail lights. I have found the mods done to the car and will be ordering a tuned chip from AmericanMuscle when I can. I also need to replace the drivers side pillar as there was a broken air/fuel ratio gauge. No pics so far.

On a side note I am thinking about getting a flip out radio. Has anyone done this and if so did it look okay?

So went to the junk yard to fix some small issues. The windshield drivers side pillar used to have a gauge that was fixed sadly no pics. Also fixed the gas cap which needed the anchor piece. Then I went to fix my dislike of the taillights and I went back to the 94-95 tails aaaaaaand then I found some yellow verticals. I want to eventually add sequential harnesses so I figured why not and 40$ later here I am. Hopefully the pics work.

So now that I am no longer in the country this will be turning into my future mods plan. I have a small list of things I will purchase while over here to put on when I return home. Most of these will be from AM but some will be eBay. I am not a fan of flashy exterior mods and will stick pretty close to stock look with minor exceptions. So without further rambling the list…

SpeedForm Adjustable Antenna(~$30)
Sequential Tail light harness(~$120)
Gears(Not Sure Which)
Saleen Style Spoiler(~$270)
Chin Spoiler(~$70).
Red radiator Hoses(~$50)
SR Black CAI(~$90)
SCT Tuner Chip(~$270)

And If I somehow find even more cash I would like to get either FR500 wheels or bullet style depending on how they look. Anyways here was a pic from a week ago before the vertical taillights that I forgot to post...
