Picked up a 1998 Atlantic Blue GT from a friend in September.

At the time i had a 98 Roush Stage 2

96 Mystic Cobra

Which is currently getting prepped for paint

And a SVTF daily driver

Since I already had 3 cars I wasn't interested in a new car but the 98 AB is super clean and the price was right. My friend is really meticulous and I couldn't pass it up so i bought it from him and sold the Roush.

The 98 AB had a new motor that hadn't even been broke in or tuned.

CMS short block; Manley Pistons and connecting rods, 10.x:1 CR, cobra crank. PI heads, CMS cams, etc.

Other mods include LT headers, O/R x- pipe, Aluminum FW & DS. 373 gears, welded axle tubes, FLSFC, Tri-ax, and some other tasteful mods.

First order of business was the tune. Installed some 39lb injectors. They're bigger than my current setup requires but I had them laying around, so I installed them for peace of mind.

Car put down 295/314 naturally aspirated.

I forgot to mention the power adder...

Spray bumped the power to 427/544

Next I needed to change up the look a little bit. I liked it the way it was but wanted to make it mine.

Installed the XXR's from the Cobra with some new MT ET Streets 305/35's

Nitrous purge was a plastic tube. Swapped out for a hard line painted black to conceal it

Went to the track for some fun. NA was running 14.0
Sprayed twice, increasing 10-12 MPH, but traction issues caused by bad driving led to roasting the tires.

Got locked out of 3rd gear at 6k a few times as well.

Changed the transmission fluid and swapped the tri-ax for a MGW shifter.

Tri-ax was nice however the MGW is nicer IMO.

The car had a Glow shift WB which I didn't care for. Bought an AEM Failsafe for future mods (hint, hint). Since the WB wires came into the cabin through the shifter hole I decided to install the AEM; which I really nice by the way. Only hooked up the WB at the moment, but I'm excited to use the other features.

Now we're all caught up chronologically.

I grabbed a hood and bumper off CL for $270. Great price however they need some work.

The hood has been painted numerous times and has some cracking.

I'm starting on the prep work this weekend. Bought some AB paint for the bumper today

I'm thinking about doing the hood and roof gloss black.

Started prepping the bumper today.

Began with the crack. Took a piece of sheet metal and attached it as backing with countersunk rivets.

All that motor work and they kept the egr, why lol

K6 is taking over.

It won't be there much longer. I'll be cleaning up the engine bay with a wire tuck and battery relocation.

Clean looking 2v, man! Also looks like you got tuned by some of the best in Vegas. Carl and Dan tuned one of my older cars (not sure if Dan is still around or not though).

I'm not particularly fond of the light gray interior so I've been kicking around so ideas.

On a whim I thought it might be possible to install a SVTF steering wheel. I love the look and feel so I grabbed one to investigate.

Unfortunately they're completely different. Aside from the airbag, the mounting configuration is not even close to similar. On to plan B which I will disclose after I do some research.

Great thread. Car has some real potential. Keep the updates coming!

Thank you. Lots of updates come soon. Just need to find time to get the work done!

The idle hangs around 2k until I come to a complete stop. I replaced the IAC with OE part & adjusted the TB screw. The idle improved, however, it's still hanging.

I made an appointment to get it on the rollers this week and give the tuner a crack at it. :fingerscrossed:
